Corporate Law

The firm has extensive experience in the establishment of all types of companies in Greece, advising clients on the optimal legal vehicle for their operations, taking into consideration their particular needs. We often assist foreign companies to form subsidiaries or branches under Greek law and then act as legal counsel supervising business operations which allows clients to focus on selling their products or services.

We draft and negotiate shareholder and joint venture agreements, prepare corporate resolutions and obtain approvals from the business registry and the tax office for all corporate changes.

We advise our clients on all corporate matters, ranging from issues arising from shareholders’ general meetings, the appointment and removal of directors, share capital increases or decreases, change of registered seat, shareholder issues, to the amendment of the articles of association and all other aspects of corporate governance.
In our clientele we have a very wide range of companies of various sizes and purposes and in different sectors. We tend to the needs of startups and NGOs all the way to multinational corporations.

We have recently advised on one of Greece’s largest M&A deals. Further to the acquisition of a company, we focus on corporate governance, restructuring and succession (in family businesses) and we consult with the company’s management in order to improve decision making.

Dispute Resolution

While our preference is to foresee and preclude rather than to remedy, the office’s litigators combine their experience and knowledge in different legal fields and take into consideration the risks involved to lead our clients through the litigation process when disputes arise.

The team can represent clients in civil and commercial litigation before all levels of the Judiciary, representing both companies and private clients. We also undertake the enforcement of foreign court judgments.

In the context of win-win situations, Alternative Dispute Resolution is supported by the office as a means to achieving resolution to disputes in an efficient, quick and confidential manner.

Immigration by investment – Golden Visa Greece

A residence permit for real estate owners is a relatively new type of residence permit in Greece, designed for third country citizens who intend to invest in the Greek real estate market.

This type of residence permit, also known as “The Golden Visa Program”, has been running in Greece since 2013. With its continuous growth, a total of 24.327 Golden Visas were issued in the period 2013 – 2020, (an impressive number, far exceeding Portugal, where another very popular residence program is running, where only 9.715 residence permits have been issued since 2012 by comparison).

The minimum investment is €250,000 and it can include all types of real estate assets (residential apartments, office space, land, holiday villas, industrial/logistics premises) throughout Greece with no geographical limitation.

Alternatively investors can enjoy the same benefits by injecting the amount of €400,000 into a variety of asset classes including (indicatively): corporate shares of listed and/or non-listed Greek companies, Greek State bonds, shares of venture capital funds and time-deposits in Greek credit institutions.

For those who want to legally reside in Greece and do not have investment purposes, there are many other options as there are many types of residence permits that they may be eligible for. While the most frequent is the Financially Independent Persons Program of a 2-year duration, there are also residence permits for members of a Greek or a European citizen, work permits and permits that give access to the Greek educational system.
